A 30-year-old pacer is all set to make a sensational return to England's Test squad after more than four years, boosting their pace attack for the second Test against India. His inclusion aims to strengthen England's lead in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series, following their impressive win in the first Test at Headingley.

England has announced the inclusion of Jofra Archer in their squad for the second Test against India, signaling a significant boost to their bowling options. This marks Archer's return to Test cricket after a hiatus of over four years, his last appearance in the format being in February 2021.

The inclusion of the fiery fast bowler comes as England aims to solidify their 1-0 advantage in the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series. The team secured a remarkable five-wicket victory in the first Test at Headingley, demonstrating confidence while chasing a target of 370.

Archer's most recent appearance for England was in March during the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan, where he participated in a one-day international against South Africa. Prior to this selection, Archer made his return to red-ball cricket, playing a first-class match for Sussex against Durham after four years. Despite securing only one wicket, his rhythm and fitness were encouraging to the selectors.

With a record of 42 wickets from 13 Tests at an average of 31, Archer's impact when fully fit is undeniable. His pace, bounce, and ability to deliver hostile spells will provide England with a significant advantage, particularly at Edgbaston, a ground known to favor seam bowlers.

Archer's return is particularly timely given concerns about the workload and minor injuries affecting other fast bowlers in the squad. Gus Atkinson is still in recovery, and the conditions of Josh Tongue and Brydon Carse are being carefully monitored.

The second Test is scheduled to commence on July 2 at Edgbaston. England will be aiming to extend their winning streak with the renewed strength of their bowling attack, now featuring one of their most exciting fast bowlers.
