Jofra Archer has been named in England's squad for the second Test match against India, marking his return to the red-ball arena.
The 30-year-old Archer is set to make his first Test appearance since February 2021. He will be vying for a spot in the playing XI when the second Test commences at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 2. This highly anticipated match is part of the five-game series.
Archer recently participated in a County Championship match for Sussex against Durham, signaling his return to red-ball cricket. His last Test match was also against India in 2021. Since then, he has faced a series of injury setbacks, including a back stress fracture. These injuries sidelined him until 2024, after which he made his comeback in white-ball cricket in May of the previous year.
The rest of the England squad remains unchanged from the first Test in Leeds, where the home side secured a five-wicket victory.
