Jayden Seales Sanctioned for On-Field Conduct Against Australia

West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales has been penalized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), incurring a fine of 15 percent of his match fee. This disciplinary action stems from a breach of the ICC's code of conduct during the first Test match against Australia in Barbados.

The specific incident involved Seales gesturing towards the Australian dressing room after dismissing their captain, Pat Cummins, at Kensington Oval.

The ICC determined that Seales' actions violated Article 2.5 of the Code of Conduct. This article addresses the use of gestures or actions during an international match that could provoke an aggressive response from a dismissed batter.

Following the day's play, Seales addressed the incident, stating, "It did not really mean anything and it was more a bit of frustration. Pat hit a couple of good shots off me and I just showed him where the dressing room was and there wasn't really anything in it."

In addition to the fine, Seales has been given one demerit point. This marks his second offense within a 24-month period, bringing his total to two demerit points.

Despite this incident, the West Indies bowling attack, featuring Seales, displayed a commendable performance on the second day of the Test match against Australia, the World Test Championship runners-up.

The hosts secured a narrow 10-run lead in the first innings, bolstered by a vital 67-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Shai Hope contributed 48 runs, while captain Roston Chase added 44.

Australia's second innings faced early setbacks, reaching 92 for 4 wickets, giving them an overall lead of 82 runs. Seales claimed his sixth wicket of the match by bowling out Josh Inglis for 12.

As the match progresses to day three, the situation remains closely contested. Travis Head (13) and Beau Webster (19) are set to resume batting for Australia.
