On the August 25 episode of WWE Raw in Birmingham, Becky Lynch, dropped some eyebrow-raising lines during her promo with Nikki Bella. Playing the heel, Becky dropped the name of Ozzy Osborne, who died recently, infuriating the fans and the legendary musician's daughter Kelly.
“The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago,” Becky said while cutting the promo. “In fairness to Ozzy Osbourne, he had the good sense to move to L.A... a proper city. Because if I lived in Birmingham, I’d die too.”
The audience reaction was expected, as a collective gasp echoed throughout the arena. On top of that, using the name of the recently deceased rock legend in a promo clearly struck a nerve, not just with fans but also with Ozzy’s family.

Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy, wasn’t having any of it. She took to her Instagram the next day with a post that clearly vocalised her anger:
“Becky Lynch, you are a disrespectful dtbag! Birmingham would not p*ss on you if you were on fire.” She tagged, albeit to a fan account, not Becky’s actual handle, and didn’t stop there:
“Shame on the WWE for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home!!!”
The hashtag #BirminghamForever also served as her rallying cry, both for her city and to defend her dad’s legacy.
To understand exactly why this caused such a stir, here is a quick context refresher. Ozzy Osbourne, who was a rock legend and co-founder of Black Sabbath, died on July 22, 2025, of a heart attack. His death came shortly after a big hometown Black Sabbath show at Villa Park in Birmingham.
Ozzy has had long-standing ties with WWE, as he appeared multiple times while even being inducted into the Celebrity Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021. He was embraced by both the wrestling and fandom community.
Becky Lynch of course has the independence to make her creative choice but referencing a legend who had just passed away and insulting his hometown was a very bold move, even following wrestling standards.
Kelly Osbourne’s reaction, on the other hand, was perhaps blunt and emotional. She made it very clear that she stands by her father, his memory, and the city he loved.
